4.1 Install BlackBox Device Drivers

In order to use BlackBox on your computer, you may need to install device drivers.

  • More modern operating systems may be able to use the BlackBox directly without additional drivers,
  • Some computers might download drivers automatically from it's online update servers.

Connect your OpenBuilds BlackBox to your computer using a USB cable.

If it fails to install USB drivers automatically, you can download and install the drivers for your operating system:

USB DRIVER INSTALL

BlackBox X32 V1.4 onwards

Download Microsoft Windows drivers from: https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/software/CP210x_VCP_Windows.zip

Download Apple MacOS drivers from https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/software/Mac_OSX_VCP_Driver.zip

BlackBox X32 V1.0 to V1.3

and Download drivers from https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/

TURN SUSPEND MODE OFF

Also be sure to turn off USB suspend Disable USB Selective Suspend on Windows machines so that long jobs can run without the USB going to sleep.
