Introduction to the OpenBuilds BLOX Features

  • a) USB-C Socket: For connecting your BLOX, to your Computer. Can be used for firmware updates and communications.
  • b) System Buttons:
    • Reset: Reboots the Interface
    • Mode: Can be used to put the BLOX into Bootloader mode for firmware updates via the USB-C Port, and also accessible as a user input button for custom firmware
  • c) SD Card: Used for Data Logging and File Storage for access from your custom firmware
  • d) UART: 3.3v Serial Port
  • e) Switched Outputs: MOSFET switched Outputs, 12-30v (Same as input voltage), Max 2A. Can be used with PWM or On/Off control.
  • f) 2x Switch / Limits Inputs: Used for connected limit switches for homing, or can also be used as filtered inputs for panel switches or external devices like relay based sensors
  • g) 2x Stepper Motors Outputs: Used for connecting Stepper motors
  • h) Servo Port: Used for connecting RC Servos
  • i) Power Input: 12-30V power Input. DC Barrel connector is Center-positive. Double check polarity before connection
  • j) Beeper: Used for notifications and alerts from your firmware
  • k) RGB LED Port: Used for connecting an WS2812 based RGB LED Strip, Circle and Matrix.
  • l) I2C Bus: Used for connection of Sensors and Modules
  • m) SPI Bus: Used for connection of Sensors and Modules
  • n) GPIO Pins: Used for connection of Sensors and Modules
