3.1 Connecting BLOX to Power Supply
 | IMPORTANT WARNING: Please note, double check your Polarity - wiring a BLOX with reversed polarity power will destroy it. Also never work on wiring of any sorts while power is on. Double check all wiring before turning on the power supply in case any mistakes were made. |
| | IMPORTANT WARNING: Please note, we recommend using our recommended Power supplies to ensure the safety and reliability of your BlackBox. Good quality power supplies ensure good, clean power to the controller. Avoid power supplies marketed as “LED power supplies” as they tend to lack filtering/protection circuitry, that can result in fatal power surges that can destroy your BLOX. Use of other power supplies may affect your warranty. |
Connecting a power supply via the barrel jack
You can connect a power supply via the Barrel jack: 5.5×2.5mm Connector, Center-Positive. 12-30V.
Wiring to a power supply via the screw terminals
Alternatively, you can wire a power supply to the two-pin screw terminal provided as well.
3.1.1 NB: Set the 115/230v Switch
Before connecting your power supply to mains power, it is critical that you check and set the 115v/230v Switch on the right-side of the PSU:
Look out for the bright yellow sticker on the top, to help you locate the switch:
